[Blacklabcollective] Next collective member..

I won't be at the next meeting, but this conversation should still happen,
and is probably great to happen without me.
Here are some more thought-out perspectives on this that you can consider
at the meeting, but no problem if you don't use this list of questions:
-Is it necessary to bring in another POC member? ie. By bringing POC people
on, are we just shifting the responsibility of noticing race-related
concerns back onto non-white folks to speak against and raise (kind of how
I feel usually, so ideally, we shouldn't be bringing someone else in to do
this work..)
-Are we listening to non-cis/white/straight folks? If not, can the
collective do things to be better listeners to non-cis/white/straight
folks?
-Are we aware that most of our volunteers/collective/audience are white? If
we are, do we want to diversify? Why/why not? (there is no wrong or right
answer, it may not be possible in vancouver's extended punk scene to
diversify more than we do, or it might be possible).
-How can we encourage diversity without being tokenistic? (ie. not saying
each show requires a poc/trans/queer/woman, which just makes me stomach
turn)
-Related to that question, is it enough to say we want ONE marginalized
person, or should there be a more active effort to encourage even more
diversity on gigs?
I don't believe there are right and wrong answers, but this might help
guide discussion around ultimately, whether we want another collective
member.
