Hey everyone!

So, i've been thinking long and hard about my role at the Black Lab.

For starters, you've all been doing extremely well without me. I'm really
proud of you all and appreciate your efforts! I love this project and I
really love working with you all. I think that we are doing something
really really special.

I'd like to propose a change in my role. If this doesn't work, I am happy
to step down.

What I don't want to do:
-I don't want to bottom line anymore gigs at Black Lab. This is my main
area of burn out.

What I do want to do:
-I would like to stay on the collective as a grant writer/administrative
type of person and help with visioning and organizing the space (ie. venue
model discussions etc..)
-I am interested in hosting/assisting workshops
-I am interested in bringing gigs i'm organizing to black lab, but only as
a promoter, not as a bottomliner (this is an important difference for me..)

What this means for the near future:
-I have a gig on July 17th (Megan is bottomlining this with me)
-I also have gigs on July 30th and Aug 1st - These will be the final gigs
that I bottomline.

What this means long term:
-I would still like to organize and propose gigs, but I would like to be
treated as an outside person, ie. not bottomline them. If they are rejected
because noone wants to take them on, that's ok with me, and I can host them
elsewhere. For burn out purposes, I cannot bottomline/arrange
volunteers/booze etc., so i'll always need a bottomliner for gigs i
propose. There will be no pressure to accept gigs i propose if noone is
available to bottomline.

Up for Negotiation:
-whether i have a say about accepting/rejecting gigs when i am clearly
stepping away from that role
-adding another collective member who can bottomline gigs to replace me

I absolutely understand if it won't work for me to play this role.. but i
hope it does!

Thank you!
