I noticed today that the windows were not covered, our PA is totally
visible and it's not wise to do this in our neighbourhood. I assured the
guy lending us the pa for an extremely low cost that we would keep windows
covered at all times so no one would know about our equipment inside.

So, if the windows are uncovered all gear needs to be put away and then I
understood the space would be returned to the original state after
workshops etc.

This is a huge bummer for me because I'm not sure who would take
responsibility if his gear is stolen. I'm going to let him know that at
this moment his gear is out in open view.

If he decides to remove his pa and equipment I would not object and someone
can rent gear.
