Oof, total bummer about the closure ...
I have some pretty big concerns about this. I like Leanna a lot and as much
as i would like to help her out my main concerns are:
-the culture of destructiveness/debauchery that is inherently a part of
this fest i.e. i would be worried about people fucking up the space
-the size of the fest (i.e. attendees) being way too many and also 6 bands
is a lot even if they are playing short sets (which I assume they would be
because powerviolence)
-lack of diversity in bands which I'm not 100% positive about but seems to
be an ongoing criticism
-frankly i'd be concerned about the way people might treat the
neighbourhood which is maybe a shitty assumption but is one i am making.
essentially as much as I really like Leanna and as much as it is
toooootally shitty that the forest fire situation is fucking up their
ability to put on the fest at the usual spot, I don't know if I can really
stand behind moving it to the black lab because of the above concerns. i
really hope something works out for her and it is a super shitty situation
that i have a lot of empathy for but i don't know it just seems like a
recipe for a shit show to me...
