[Blacklabcollective] Grants - input please!

I agree with Lindsay in this one. I think we should talk about this in the
next meeting for a bit. If we start paying people the dynamics will change
and I don't know if I want that. I think it is important to keep the space
volunteered run. I don't want to be anybody's boss and also money sucks. My
idea of the space is to have a space away from capitalism and government
dynamics and closer to punk, DIY and autonomy. I am also really ignorant in
the grant subject, I have more questions than anything. I would like to
know what would need to be done by us in order to get the grants. I am not
familiar at all with this kinds of processes. Like for example, do we have
to be more legit or is just as simple as changing our legal name? Do we
have to put a lot of work in order to get them? Stuff like putting exit
signs, change or capacity, pay taxes, etc. Sorry for my ignorance, but I
want to keep the space as sketchy as possible and closer to the punk
community than to the government rules. I have been to many, many spaces
like ours in Europe, South and North America and the lamest spaces, the
least interesting ones are always the ones that get money from the
government. I am just scared that we stop being cool :)

One last thing, thanks Anju for doing all this work!!! I just need to read
a bit more about the subject and hear what options do we have :P

Excited!

Rafael.
