[Blacklabcollective] Update on Saturday meetings

Hey folks,

I just wanted to check-in regarding the meeting we hosted on Saturday. It
was awesome, turnout was larger than Wendy had anticipated, and folks were
very thankful for letting them use the space. It was very, very positive
and rad.

Moving forward, Wendy would like to continue using the space on Saturdays.
I told her that I needed to confirm this with the collective, but that it
is fine with me.

Basically, there are two different meetings. The first one is a group
tentatively called the DTES Collaborative Tenant Action Group, which will
meet from 12:00 - 1:30 pm (but setup at 11:00). From 2:00 - 4:00, Wendy
wants to have space for elders to host discussions or film screenings.
(This second meeting will not necessarily happen every week.)

I think that these are both really exciting things to have happen at the
Black Lab. Our location is really perfect for it. I told Wendy that if she
is using the space there will likely be instances where we would need to
cancel her meeting to host an event and she understands and made that clear
to her folks as well.

I have already stated where I stand in terms of supporting this and being a
liaison for the meetings, but I am interested to hear everyone's thoughts
and concerns and maybe we can put this on the agenda for our Tuesday
meeting?
