[Bikesdelpueblo] Visionaries: Grrrls to the Front - Zine Release Party and Fund Raiser

Dear friends, 

A group of City College students have organized with the Visionary Feminist 
org/club on campus to strategize creating social transformation on campus and in 
the community (the org's name taken from bell hooks's "Visionary Feminism" 
chapter in Feminism is for Everybody). On Dec 16th you can witness the group put 
theory into practice at an even highlighting the art and music of womyn in SD. 
Multiple bands will play and djs will spin beats while you view art by womyn, 
drink cocktails and eat yummy foodz. The Rubber Rose (womyn friendly sex shop) 
and SD BEAT (student org against state budget cuts) will be representing at this 
event. Also, this event doubles as the Visionary Feminists's zine release party! 
It starts at 8pm, it's three dollars for students. All proceeds go to the Diana 
Gonzalez scholarship fund, a scholarship fund for community college students in 
honor of the late SDCC student Diana Gonzalez, a victim of interpersonal 
violence who was found murdered on SDCC campus earlier a few months ago.

I urge you to attend because in doing so you are supporting the activism of 
young feminists in the community.

So I have attached a flyer. Spread the word. It is in Hillcrest at Saigon on 5th 
from 8pm - ? and an awesome riot grrrl band called "Mermaid" are going to play a 
great set.
