hello volunteers, visitors, and collective members,

i just was thinking it would be a good idea to send out an email with some
news and also just to keep some excellent recent volunteers in the loop so
we don't lose them, because that would suck.

news item no. 1: 350 bike ride.

a group from sdsu wants to plan a bike ride for 350 day, october 10, which
i guess is a day where people say "hey, lets reduce co2". i figured since
october was the month we wanted to do another ride, and since they want to
end in city heights, and since we like bike rides, it might be a good idea
to get involved.

news item no. 2: bikes del pueblo will not be at the farmers market for
the next two weeks (8/14 and 21) and we have suspended monday nights for
the time being. i will alert anybody interested to any meetings to start
back up on a weeknight.

news item no. 3: fer from irc has informed me that some orgs involved with
the farmers market would like us to help out somehow in distributing food
for their csa. she went on to say something about a grant and the
possibility of a space and finding volunteers, so basically i think its
going to lead to more talks in the future. but it did look hopeful about
the whole finding local high school volunteers and being able to sign off
on their hours. just wanted to put that out in the open.

in closing, for general updates bdp now has a blog. so far it just has
schedule updates and a flier, hopefully it will make it easier for people
to keep track. i kind of hope that people use it so that we dont have to
rely on an email list, people will just look if they want to. who knows.
