[Bhpbilliton] suggestions for the BHP Billiton Watch website

Thanks Mia, Richard & all (Sakura for work on site),

Various responses...

1) Yes let's link to material already published (MAC reproduces whole
texts for a number of reasons, but it was a decision we took even though
we knew it would be more work. In the case of BHPB site seems better to
just link with intro (also much better for copyright issues)
2) The media watch is a great idea, but we have to be realistic about
what can be done with time we have available. I know I'll have little to
no time to contribute to it as I already post to 3 websites & that's
confusing/work enough. If we can sort the technology the ideal would be
a site that had feeds that posted relevant material automatically. As I
don't think we have that the minimum should be to use the site as a
pointer to the collected materials around (& if possible original
material we are producing or can get from communities - would be very
useful). So a good idea to have multi-media, but maybe just use the site
to link back to where it is published on other sites - if it isn't
anywhere else all the better if it to be uploaded to the BHPB site (&
others like LMN & MAC may end up linking to it....). Also for me makes
the idea of a links page to those who are working on BHP (especially if
that lists any geographic, mineral or other focus) especially useful -
for me if I were an affected community, journalist or even interested
individual this would probably be the most useful section.
3) Spanish & other language material would be good - but think again
we'll have initially to be realistic. If we have materials in other
languages we should post them if we can...

Otherwise all good ideas for materials Mia. My comments don't really
help us practically get stuff on the site - good to know who can work on
it & to whom we should be sending materials (as Sakura has shared or can
share password). Sorry I can't really be of much help - but may at least
commit to get some Philippine specific materials on there...

All the best,

W
