1. THE 'LIBERALIZED' CONTEST

Your Count-Me-In organizing team is running a contest. The prize is a
free copy of the Tyee's new book,'Liberalized'.
To enter, simply sign up as many new CMI volunteers as possible between
now and when the writ is dropped on April 19. Send the volunteer cards

3. HEU Barbeque in Vancouver

The Hospital Employees' Union is holding a barbeque in Vancouver on
April 10th between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Park at 10th Avenue
and Heather. All union members welcome to attend.

4. New study from CCPA: Untangling the spin on long term care
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seniors and their families have been unfairly burdened by BC Liberal
changes to continuing care. The result is rising costs for private care,
crowded emergency rooms, fewer acute care beds and greater insecurity
for one of BC's most vulnerable populations.
Marcy Cohen, the lead author of the new study Continuing Care Renewal or
Retreat: BC Residential and Home Health Care Restructuring 2001-2004,
today released an opinion editorial to accompany the new report on long
term care which was released by the Canadian Centre for Policy
Alternatives last week. Both are available free at:
