Two Years Holding the Line: United Steelworkers at Modern Auto Plating

As 34 United Steelworkers members on strike at Modern Auto Plating in
Vancouver approach the 2 year anniversary of the start of their strike on
January 24, 2002, the labour movement is gearing up support for their cause.


Next weekend will see two opportunities for all of us to demonstrate our
support for the struggle of these workers. .

Please join us - and bring friends, family and other progressive activists
to these events - and show this employer the community's support for the
Steelworkers' efforts to negotiate a fair collective agreement.

a)  "One Day Longer" Solidarity Rally - 2 Years Holding the Line
 
It's worth fighting for!  

Please join us and support the Steelworkers who have been on strike at
Modern Auto Plating since January 24, 2002.
 
The rally will take place:
 
Date:  Friday, January 23, 2004 
Time:  11:45 am 
Place: on the picket line at 60 East 5th St. (corner of 5th & Quebec),
Vancouver 
 
We'll have speakers, songs, coffee and pizza. 

b) Two Years on the Picket Line Benefit Evening

Proceeds to benefit the members of USWA Local 2952 who have been on strike
at Modern Auto Plating since January 24, 2002.

Time:   7:00 pm
Place:  Maritime Labour Centre, 1880 Triumph St, at Victoria Drive,
Vancouver, BC

Featuring:
*	The comedy of The Laff Riot Girls
*	Music by Blues Cannon, all-union member band from Vancouver area
