Tomorrow, February 15, people around the globe will join together to protest
US plans to invade Iraq.

We encourage everyone to participate in local events in their community.
The following is a list of events across British Columbia, sorted in
alphabetical order by community.

* Castlegar

Peace Walk from 3-5 pm from Chamber of Commerce contact J.J. at 250-8252 for
info

Join millions across the planet & speak out against a US invasion, US
bombing, & US-led sanctions that kill innocent Iraqi people.

* Comox Valley

People will be demonstrating for peace at the 17th street bridge from 3 to
5pm on Friday February 14th in concert with world wide peace actions during
that week.

The Comox Valley Peace Group is also organizing a double header bus trip on
February 15 to the Nanoose military base and the Nanaimo peace march and
rally. Come down to the bridge on Friday afternoon and sign up for a $15
seat or phone ernie at 250 897 3916.

* Cowichan

Peace Connection is sponsoring a peace rally (our second) on the 15th. The
Council of Canadians chapter is participating. We are meeting at the (12:00
noon)Doghouse restaurant and marching to city square. contact info is Margot

* Grand Forks

Peace Fair with sign making for the kid from 10-2 at the Grand Forks High

* Kamloops

Peace Walk and information session
Congregate In front of the Desert Gardens Seniors Centre - 540 Seymour
Street at 1:00 PM on February 15th We'll walk through downtown and return to
Desert Gardens for a short rally. Music, refreshments, and snacks will be
available. A video presentation will be shown afterwards.

Meet at the Courthouse! Come out and show your opposition to this murderous
war. If you would like to know more about the broader movement against the

* Qualicum Beach

The Qualicum Beach Council endorsed the Peace Walk on Saturday Feb. 15/03.
The walk will start at 12;00 noon at the parking lot on the corner of Fern
and Beach st. From there we will proceed down Fern st. to Memorial Ave.,
down Memorial Ave. to Second Ave, up Second Ave to Primrose Ave. and the
village Square (Town Hall Bldg and Library). The event will climax with
music, short speeches etc. We would prefer you bring signs emphasizing
peace. This is a non-political event for all citizens concerned about world
peace! We welcome your participation Q.B. Peace Walk committee. For further

* Salt Spring Island

Voice of Women and the Coalition of Concerned Citizens invite all Salt
Spring Islanders and visitors to join us on Saturday, Feb 15 from 3:30-5:30
in Centennial Park for a March and rally. Over 500 white arm bands
symbolizing our demand for peace have been sewn and are being distributed at
et cetera in Upper Ganges and the Growing Circle Food Co-op in Lower Ganges.
We hope everyone will be wearing an armband throughout the week, at the
rally and for as long as it is needed as a concrete symbol of your desire
for peace.

* Vancouver

Gather 12:30 p.m. Canada Place 1 p.m. march (passing US & UK Consulates) to
2 p.m. Rally at Vancouver Art Gallery Music by members of Spirit of the West

United for Peace and Justice - Central Vancouver Island Saturday February
15, 1-3 p.m., Maffeo-Sutton Park at Swyalana Lagoon. Mass rally, speakers,
music, actions Full-page ad in local paper 2 days before. Our message is: No
War on Iraq and Peace Is Possible Future plans: Respectfully surround City

* Victoria

Rally for Peace 1:00 pm starting at Centennial Square and going to the
Armouries on Blanshard and we will snake march our way there and have
speeches and calls for peace along the way. 

* Westbank

Prayers for Peace Saturday, February 15th 2003 11 am - 11:30 am, Prayers for
peace with regards to the confict between Iraq and the USA.
