In solidarity with the March on the Pentagon actions in Washington DC

October 7 marks the 18th year of the war on Afghanistan, the longest war in U.S. history. Now into its 19th year, the war is still bringing death, destruction and immense hardship to the people of Afghanistan. On September 19 a U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan killed at least 30 farmers harvesting pine nuts in Nangarhar province. A few days later, on September 23, at least 40 civilians were killed at a wedding, including women and children, by a U.S.-led attack on a village in southern Helmand province.

On October 11 and 12, 2019 antiwar activists and peace-loving people in the U.S. are taking a stand against the continued U.S. war drive, and have called the March on the Pentagon’s weekend of “Rage Against the War Machine” in Washington, DC to demand the complete end to the wars abroad, the closure of foreign bases, and that the Pentagon budget be dramatically slashed to fund healthy social programs at home.

Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) in Vancouver, Canada stands in solidarity with the Rage Against the War Machine actions in Washington, DC and is continuing to campaign against the new era of war and occupation carried out by the U.S. and their imperialist allies, including Canada.

This event will take place on the traditional and unceded territories of the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), and the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Coast Salish Nations.
