In the new era of war and occupation, which began with the invasion of Afghanistan in 2011, the U.S. government and their imperialist allies have occupied or gone to war against Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Palestine. They have also threatened and sanctioned Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela. Now armed with a more than $700 billion budget, the U.S. military continues to bring untold death and destruction to the Middle East and North Africa.

Over the past month alone, the Israeli Defense Forces has massacred 111 Palestinians and injured more than 12,733 participating in a peaceful protest campaign. The over 70-year occupation continues to deny the Palestinian people their basic human rights, dignity and self-determination.

For three years Saudi Arabia and its allies have carried out a brutal and deliberate U.S.-backed bombing campaign, as well as an air, sea and land blockade. This continues to destroy vital infrastructure, hospitals, homes and historic sites, and indiscriminately kill and injure innocent Yemeni people.

For seven years the U.S. government and its allies, including Canada and Israel, have been funding and arming mercenaries in Syria that have torn the country apart. Since the April 13 U.S./U.K./France bombing of Syria they have been escalating the war against Syria - as they continue to attempt to overthrow the government of President Bashar al Assad.

Now more than ever, it is the time for peace-loving people in Vancouver and around the world to come together against the imperialist war machine!
