On August 9, 2018 Saudi Arabian forces targeted a school bus in Yemen with a United States made laser-guided bomb. 40 children and 11 adults were murdered, 79 more were injured. Billions of dollars in arms sales continue to Saudi Arabia despite their brutal U.S.-backed war on the people of Yemen. Since March 2015 this war has killed over 14,000 people and bombed and blockaded Yemen into the “worst humanitarian crisis” in the world (United Nations).

The government of Canada is also complicit in the bloody assault on Yemen. Saudi Arabia received over $142 million military goods from Canada in 2016, and the Trudeau government has also moved ahead with a $15 billion arms deal to supply Saudi Arabia with heavily weaponized light-armored vehicles.

As part of escalating wars and occupations across the Middle East and North Africa, on people from Libya to Iraq and Afghanistan to Palestine, the Trump administration also re-imposed cruel and unjustified sanctions on Iran this month.

The U.S. government and their allies, including the government of Canada, are everyday escalating their wars and occupations around the world. As peace-loving people in Vancouver, Canada we must join together with the millions of people who are fighting against them every day! Join MAWO on Friday, August 24 to demand:
