***This event will be taking place on the traditional and unceded territories of the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), and the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Coast Salish Nations.



Since March 26, 2015, Saudi Arabia along with military, political and financial support from the United States has carried out a brutal, devastating and ongoing bombing campaign against the people of Yemen. Their claims of wanting to bring peace and stability to the people of Yemen have only brought death and destruction to the already impoverished country. To date, the United Nations estimates the death toll at over 10,000 people and at least 3 million people have been internally displaced.



The people of Yemen are facing a dire humanitarian crisis, suffering from shortages of food, water, fuel and medicines because of bombing and the air, land and sea blockade imposed on them by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition. A new report released by the UN indicates that 17 million people are facing severe food insecurity and are on the verge of famine.

Join Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) and the Yemeni community in Vancouver for a vigil for Yemen as part of an international day of action against the bombing of Yemen. The day of action will also mark two years since the beginning of the Saudi Arabia-led coalition bombing campaign.

نداء عاجل للاحتجاج ضد الحرب على اليمن

اليوم العالمي للتضامن مع الشعب اليمني والمطالبة بوقف العدوان ضد اليمن

منذ 26 مارس 2015، بدأت المملكة العربية السعودية مع الدعم العسكري والسياسي والمالي من الولايات المتحدة وبقية دول التحالف حملة القصف الوحشية المدمرة ضد الشعب اليمنى. مبربرين الحرب برغبتهم في إحلال السلام والاستقرار للشعب اليمنى لكن ما نراه اليوم إلا الموت والدمار. التحالف الدولي العسكري ضد اليمن بقيادة السعودية قصف الآلاف من المدارس والمستشفيات والجسور، ومحطات توليد الطاقة ومخيمات اللاجئين والأسواق وغيرها من البنى التحتية في البلاد. حيث تقدر الأمم المتحدة عدد القتلى في اليمن بأكثر من 10 آلاف شخص، وعلى الأقل 3 مليون شخص قد شردوا داخليا.



ويواجه شعب اليمن أزمة إنسانية وخيمة، فهم يعانون من نقص في الغذاء والماء والوقود والأدوية بسبب القصف والحصار الجوي والبري والبحري المفروض عليهم من قبل قوات التحالف العسكري التي تقودها السعودية ويشير تقرير جديد صادر عن الأمم المتحدة أن 17 مليون نسمة في "أزمة" أو "حالة طارئة" للوضع الغذائي وهم على وشك المجاعة.



في فانكوفر، "مؤسسة التعبئة ضد الحرب والاحتلال" الكنديةً، وأعضاء من الجالية اليمنية والعربية سينظمون وقفة احتجاجية ضد الحرب على لليمن في 26 مارس 2017. هذه الوقفة تنظم ضمن اليوم العالمي للتضامن مع الشعب اليمني والمطالبة بوقف العدوان ضد اليمن.
