Today the people of Yemen are experiencing the worst cholera outbreak in the world. This is just one of the deadly consequences of a more than two year long, US-backed bombing campaign led by Saudi Arabia. This brutal assault has also included an air, sea and land blockade that has created a widespread humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

The devastation in Yemen is one arm of the brutal US war machine, a massive machine that grows more aggressive and deadly every day. US President Trump has followed in his predecessors footsteps and escalated US military spending. Justin Trudeau has announced Canada’s own massive increase in military spending as well.  This means more death and destruction for people all over the Middle East and Africa.

From Iraq and Syria, to Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen, people are struggling every day against imperialist wars and occupations led by the US government and its allies. As peace-loving people in Vancouver, we must stand with them and unite together to end this new era of war and occupation!
