This event will take place on the traditional and unceded territories of the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilwətaɁɬ), the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), and the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh) Coast Salish Nations.
This event is organized jointly by the Fire This Time Venezuela Solidarity Campaign and the Hugo Chavez People's Defense Front - Southwest Canada Chapter.

On Wednesday, June 21, Venezuela won another victory against foreign intervention in their country. As a three-day meeting of the Organization of American States (OAS) came to a close, the US, Canada and their right-wing allies were defeated in their attempts to pass a resolution to intervene in the affairs of the sovereign and independent government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. 
However, imperialist threats, sanctions and intervention continue against the people of Venezuela and the democratically elected government of President Nicolas Maduro. This includes the beginning of aggressive military exercises by the US Southern Command off the coast of Venezuela.
With full political and financial support of the US government and their allies, Venezuela’s violent right-wing opposition has continued their campaign to overthrow the Bolivarian Revolution.  This includes continuous rioting and escalating violence inside Venezuela, and attacks on those defending Venezuela's sovereignty in other countries as well.
Last month a large group of right-wing Venezuelans were defeated in their attempts to intimidate and shut-down our monthly Venezuela solidarity demonstration in Vancouver. United with other organizations, we held our ground.  They have vowed to come back this month, so we must continue to mobilize together in defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of Venezuela against imperialist intervention. We must stand with the people of Venezuela as they fight to maintain and extend the gains of the Bolivarian Revolution.  Join the Fire This Time Venezuela Solidarity Campaign on Friday, July 7 at the US Consulate and the Vancouver Art Gallery to demand:

El miércoles 21 de junio, Venezuela ganó otra victoria contra la intervención extranjera en su país. Cuando una reunión de tres días de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) terminó, Estados Unidos, Canadá y sus aliados derechistas fueron derrotados en sus intentos de aprobar una resolución para intervenir en los asuntos del gobierno soberano e independiente de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela.
Sin embargo, las amenazas, sanciones e intervenciones imperialistas continúan contra el pueblo de Venezuela y el gobierno elegido democráticamente del presidente Nicolás Maduro. Esto incluye el inicio de ejercicios militares agresivos por parte del Comando Sur de Estados Unidos frente a la costa de Venezuela esta semana.
Con el pleno apoyo político y financiero del gobierno de Estados Unidos y sus aliados, la violenta oposición derechista de Venezuela ha continuado su campaña para derrocar la Revolución Bolivariana. Esto incluye los disturbios dentro de Venezuela continuos, y los ataques contra quienes defienden la soberanía de Venezuela en otros países también.
El mes pasado, un gran grupo de venezolanos derechistas fueron derrotados en sus intentos de intimidar y cerrar nuestra manifestación de solidaridad con Venezuela en Vancouver. Unido con otras organizaciones, mantuvimos nuestra posición.
