On Thursday April 6 2017, the Unites States launched more than 60 cruise missiles against a Syrian airbase under the pretext that they were punishing the Syrian government for allegedly using chemical bombs against their own people. This latest attack against the sovereign nation of Syria is a continuation and escalation of the US agenda to overthrow the Syrian government and continue its wars and occupation in the region.

Beyond their crimes in Syria, the US and its allies are also funding and backing the Saudi-led bombing campaign against Yemen. Over two years of bombing and the inhuman air, naval and land blockade imposed on Yemen have created a humanitarian crisis.  According to the UN, a child under the age of five dies every 10 minutes of preventable causes in Yemen.

Now more than ever, it is the time for peace-loving people in Vancouver and around the world to come together. We must stand with the people of Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bahrain and all across the Middle East and North Africa in the fight against imperialist wars and occupations!
