Join MAWO to organize against war & occupation!

On Saturday August 20th, hundreds of thousands of people rallied in the streets of Sana'a, Yemen to protest the brutal US-backed Saudi bombing campaign on the country. Since the start of the bombing in March of 2015, over 10,000 people have been killed, 30,000 injured and at least 3 million people have been displaced. The Saudi-led coalition carries out this deadly assault with the support of US and its imperialist allies, including Canada, which currently has a $15 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia.

Beyond its support for the war on Yemen, the US and its allies have also continued their bombing campaign of Syria and their support and funding of the vicious so-called "moderate" Syrian anti-government rebels. Now Turkey, backed by the US, has escalated its intervention in Syria and begun a ground offensive into Syria, while continuing devastating air strikes on the country.

Over the last few months the government of Canada has also expanded its commitment ?to imperialist wars and occupations though its pledge to lead a battalion of NATO troops on the Latvian border of Russia. In addition to taking a lead in this dangerous provocation of Russia, Canada has also pledged to send more Canadian troops, fighter jets and weaponry into the region.

As peace-loving people we must stand with the people of Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bahrain and all across the Middle East and North Africa in the fight against imperialist wars and occupations! Enough is enough! Join Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) for a rally and petition drive on the streets of Vancouver on Friday August 26 to demand:
