The
new era of war and occupation has expanded to a new front since last
Thursday with the bombing of Yemen by a Saudi-led coalition. Saudi
Arabia is also threatening a ground invasion with 150,000 troops
amassed on their border with Yemen, undermining the
self-determination of the people of Yemen, as well as Yemen's
sovereignty. Yemen's struggle to determine their own future free of
U.S.-backed regimes is now facing foreign intervention and war with
the help of the U.S.



More
than ever peace-loving people and antiwar activists around the world
must oppose the new front of war against Iraq and Syria. The U.S. has
also expanded their airstrikes to Syria, and now U.S. President
Barack Obama is asking Congress to authorize military force in a move
that will open the door for U.S. ground troops and a direct military
intervention in Syria. Just today Canadian Parliament passed a motion
to extend their war in Iraq by another year, and to expand their
airstrikes to Syria. We will discuss why the antiwar movement in
Canada needs to double efforts to stop the Harper government's
assault on the people of Syria. 




Join
MAWO to discuss the critical situation of the recent ongoing bombing
of Yemen and the new war on Iraq and Syria, and how the antiwar
movement must respond.
