PROTEST BILL C-51!

Forum and Discussion: Advancing the Movement Against Bill C-51



Bill C-51, the
“Secret Police Bill” is the most wholesale attack on democratic
and human rights in Canada in over 100 years. The bill, if passed,
will grant the Government of Canada unprecedented powers to spy on,
disrupt and detain anyone that falls under their purposely vague
definition of “supporting terrorism”. Across Canada and here in
Vancouver, protests have been bringing attention to the fact that
more and more people are against this bill as the draconian nature of
the bill becomes more apparent. 




In Vancouver social
justice activists have formed the Working Group to Stop Bill C-51 to
organize in opposition to this undemocratic and inhuman legislation.
Since the formation of this working group, every week we have had
picket action on Mondays. Tomorrow, Monday April 27th, is
our 10th consecutive weekly picket action to protest
against Bill C-51. We encourage everyone to join us for this picket
action and for the following public forum that is aimed to open
discussion on how we can stop Bill C-51!
