Millions
 of people around the world have taken to the streets to protest 
Israel’s brutal and criminal 50 day assault on Gaza, while many 
governments either gave their support to Israel or remained silent. 
However, in Latin America many governments have joined with their people
 in protest and taken a firm stand in solidarity with Palestine and 
Gaza. In 1973 Cuba cut ties with Israel and has never reestablished 
relations. Venezuela also cut ties with Israel during Israel’s siege on 
Gaza in 2009. Both countries have issued strong condemnations of 
Israel’s attacks on Gaza, and provided aid to Palestinians. Bolivia 
recently limited relations with Israel, and has called Israel a 
terrorist state. Since the recent attacks on Gaza, Brazil, Chile, 
Ecuador, El Salvador and Peru have all recalled their ambassadors from 
Tel Aviv. Argentina, Mexico, Nicaragua and Uruguay also joined in 
condemning the recent Zionist Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Join this forum to discuss the leading role that governments in Latin America have taken in solidarity with Palestine.

 self-determination.

criminal ataque Israelí sobre Gaza que se prolongó por 50 días, mientras
 muchos gobiernos bien dieron su apoyo a Israel o
hicieron silencio. 
Sin embargo, en América Latina muchos gobiernos se han unido a sus 
pueblos en protesta y han asumido una firme posición de solidaridad con 
Palestina y Gaza. En 1973, Cuba cortó lazos con Israel y nunca ha 
restablecido relaciones. Venezuela también cortó los lazos con Israel 
durante el asedio Israelí a Gaza en 2009. Ambos países han emitido 
fuertes condenas hacia los ataques de Israel a Gaza, y han brindado 
ayuda a los Palestinos. Bolivia recientemente limitó sus relaciones con 
Israel y llamó a Israel un estado terrorista. Desde los recientes 
ataques a Gaza, Brasil, Chile, Ecuador, El  Salvador y Perú han retirado
 a sus embajadores de Tel Aviv. Argentina, México, Nicaragua y Uruguay 
también se unieron en la condena al reciente ataque sionista Israelí a 
Gaza.
