Right now is a critical time for
antiwar activists and peace-loving people to act. Iraq is facing yet
another U.S.-led war, with airstrikes from U.S. forces and their
imperialist allies bombarding the country and thousands of foreign
troops on the ground. U.S.-led airstrikes and military aggression are
also moving in on Syria. Their excuse? The U.S. claims they are
fighting ISIS/ISIL, a terrorist force which has been taking control
of areas of Iraq and Syria. However, ISIS/ISIL is itself a product of
years of U.S.-led war and sanctions, that combined left Iraq broken,
divided and fomented sectarianism in Iraq. Furthermore, ISIS has also
benefited from Western military, financial and covert intervention in
Syria, where the U.S. and their allies have backed and supported
rebel forces including ISIS. The government of Canada has thrown
their support into this latest criminal war, with six CF-18 fighters,
two surveillance aircrafts, an air-to-air tanker and 600 military
personal to take part in air strikes on Iraq. MAWO is committed to
organizing against any forms of imperialist intervention in Iraq and
