MARCH 5 - 8 WEST COAST TOUR

Join with the Free the Cuban 5 Committee – Vancouver in celebrating the release of Fernando Gonzalez, one of the Cuban 5 and marking the occasion of the 100th consecutive monthly picket action in Vancouver to Free ALL the Cuban 5.

Vancouver will mark our 100th consecutive monthly picket action in front of the U.S. Consulate for freedom for ALL of the 5 Cuban Heroes on March 5, 2014. To  honour this milestone the Free the Cuban 5 Committee-Vancouver is organizing a West Coast speaking tour with the Cuban Ambassador to Canada, His Excellency Julio Garmendía Peña, Miraly González González, First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Ottawa, Stephen Kimber, journalist and author of "What Lies Across the Water: the Real Story of the Cuban 5," and Don Foreman,  Union Representative for the Central Region of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). For this tour there are 8 events in 5 days in Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kamloops, Seattle, and Victoria from March 5- 8.

As well, March 5th has become a Day of Action when groups across North America will be organizing events in solidarity with our 5 heroes and Vancouver's milestone 100th monthly picket action. So far there are solidarity events organized in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, San Francisco and Mexico City. 

We are confident with unity, and consistent action, we are ever closer to the day when ALL of the Cuban 5 will be free!
