With the collapse of the Soviet Union and Eastern European countries from 1989-1991, and all of those countries shifting from a socialist planned economy to a capitalist mode of production, the public perception has since been that what once necessitated imperialist aggression, the so-called “communist threat”, has been eliminated and there has been no need to continue Cold War policies. The course of events, imperialist wars, occupations and coup d'états, in Yugoslavia, the Middle East and Africa, and more recently in Ukraine, seem to prove otherwise. Now especially with the aggressive military expansion of NATO against Russia in Europe, and military aggression and hostility with the help from Japan against China in the South East Asia, we are witnessing the development of a new cold war, Cold War II.  Since the beginning of 2014, Ali Yerevani has been one of the early analysts calling the unfolding hostility of the US ruling class towards Russia and China the beginning of Cold War II. Although, the bourgeois and liberal analysts failed to characterize it as capitalism vs capitalism. Now the public is questioning, what is the foundation of this new cold war? Who is doing it and why?
