TUESDAY September 24
7pm
Britannia Community Center

Join
MAWO’s organizing meeting to discuss reports from our previous events
and organize for MAWO’s upcoming antiwar events and actions. The meeting
will start with 45 minutes of video clips covering news from around the
world, focusing on imperialist threats and interventions as well as the
resistance of oppressed people against war and occupation.

((( 2 ))) MAWO PUBLIC FORUM + FILM SCREENING

>> “Syria: Between Iraq and a Hard Place”
Film Screening, Speaker and Discussion

On
September 9th, 2013, renowned filmmaker Saul Landau passed away. Saul
was a life long social justice activist whose films shine a critical
light on the injustices taking place world wide, as well as the
struggles of oppressed people for a better world. Saul was also a good
friend of MAWO, he presented several of his films and led the Master
Class at the 2011 MAWO International Film Festival 4 Peace.

Saul
Landau’s film, “Syria: Between Iraq and a Hard Place” gives a picture of
what life is really like in Syria, past the mainstream media spin. It
also documents the history of US imperialist threats against Syria
starting over a decade ago. The film provides a vital context to the
many years of foreign maneuvering and meddling in Syria’s internal
affairs that has led up to the current war drive against Syria.
