Marking a Decade of Antiwar Organizing: Looking Back & Moving Forward

On October 29th, 2003 Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) was formed to bring peace-loving people together to educate, organize and mobilize against the new era of war and occupation. Since MAWO's formation, we have seen a growing campaign by imperialists towards more wars and occupations. Our examples of the destruction they have caused, has unfortunately only grown, from Iraq, to Somalia, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan and beyond. 

For 10 years, MAWO has consistently organized events and actions to publicly stand up to the consistent campaign of imperialists towards more war and destruction of nations. MAWO continues to organize in new and creative ways, to build a broad reaching campaign against war at home and abroad not only with marches and rallies, but also through  festivals, conferences, petitions, cultural events, educational forums, art displays and beyond. Through this work, MAWO has become the true representative of the antiwar consciousness of the people of Canada, not only in the US and Canada, but around the world. MAWO has continued not only to educate people against the imperialist war drive, but by organizing daily, weekly and monthly, hundreds and hundreds of different protest events, MAWO has set an example of building an antiwar movement.

On the 10th anniversary since our formation, we invite you to join MAWO for an evening of Words, Visuals, Beats & Treats!
