After more than 2 years of a Western-fuelled civil war in Syria, the destruction is immense. The United Nations now estimates that there are over 2 million refugees who have fled the country. The Syrian people face destabilization and violence, as the anti-government “rebels” continue to operate with weapons, support, and training from imperialist countries. 

Despite the compliance of the Syrian government with the UN resolution regarding their chemical weapons, the government of Canada continues to join with the US, UK and their allies in emphasizing that all options for military intervention are still on the table. 

In this new era of war and occupation there are too many bloody examples of the destruction caused by these imperialist countries. In Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, foreign intervention through sanctions, and covert and overt military operations has caused nothing but chaos and death. 

Join Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) as we rally in the streets of downtown Vancouver, asking people to sign our petition demanding that Canada end all sanctions on Syria and stop all intervention in the internal affairs of the country.
