Marking Three Months of the Immigration Raid

Join us as we mark the three month anniversary of the CBSA immigration
raid at the Porter Development on Victoria Drive in East Vancouver.

The raid resulted in the deportations of several undocumented and migrant
workers, some of whom were forced to leave behind families including young
children and Indigenous children. Making it worse, the raid was filmed for
an episode of the reality entertainment show “Border Security.”

We will be celebrating the community victory in demanding this episode not
be broadcast (with music, facepainting and more!) however the fight isn't
finished yet. We demand the production company, Vancouver based Force Four
Entertainment, and broadcasters Global, Shaw and National Geographic
Canada, completely cease producing and airing this federally subsidized
show that generates profit from suffering and humiliation while serving as
propaganda for the Tory’s “tough on crime” and anti-immigrant agendas. We
also demand the Canadian government stop the colonial, exclusionary and
inherently violent practice of deportation. Dignity and status for all,
deportation is not entertainment!
