Over the last 12 years the new era of war and occupation has
caused immense destruction around the world, destroyed towns and cities, and
killed countless innocent people. These wars and occupations have put the
people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Libya, Syria and most recently Mali
into a continuous state of crisis that stems from the destructiveness and
brutality of military invasion and occupation. 

We have seen what happens when US imperialism targets a
country. We only have to look at the countries which the US and their allies,
including Canada, have invaded, occupied and intervened in over the last 12
years. 

For decades sanctions by colonial powers have aimed to
strangle North Korea. Furthermore, US military presence on the Korean Peninsula
has kept North Korea under constant threat. In recent months the US has
increased their war-mongering campaign of threats and intimidations against
North Korea.

In Syria a US-fomented civil war is continuing to be backed
up with foreign imperialist and reactionary regional countries funding and
arming mercenaries. In Syria today the “Free Syrian Army” mercenaries are doing
the dirty work of the US on the ground. As this crisis escalates, Israel has
made repeated incursions into Syria and air strikes against Syria. The US and
their allies are still parading as so-called “Friends” of Syria while giving
increasingly open support to anti-government forces in Syria and threatening
military intervention. 

Join MAWO to demand “no to war and occupation, yes to
self-determination!”
