The trial of  U.S. Army PFC Bradley Manning began on Monday June 3rd in Ft. Meade, Maryland. Whistle-blower Bradley Manning is accused of releasing over 260,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables, videos and documents including the Afghan War Diary and the Iraq War Logs. Before the trial began he had been held in prison for over 3 years, subjected to cruel and inhuman treatment including solitary confinement and forced nudity. Bradley Manning is now facing his entire life in prison for standing up for humanity. 

To mark the beginning of the trial the Bradley Manning Support Network (http://www.bradleymanning.org), based in the U.S., called an international week of action from June 1st – 8th.  To begin the week, on June 1st 1000 people rallied at Ft. Meade in support of Bradley Manning and to demand his immediate freedom. In Vancouver, the MAWO Bradley Manning support campaign has called for a  day of action and invites all peace-loving people to join.
