Comandante Chávez, despite his passing, continues to be a leading force in inspiring the struggle for the independence and unity of working and poor people in Latin America and the world.

"We cannot miss at this time the most heartfelt tribute to the undefeated Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian Revolution of our sister Venezuela, dear comrade Hugo Chavez, an outstanding disciple of the heroes of the independence of Latin America and Caribbean." - Raúl Castro, July 26 , 2013, Santiago de Cuba
