On January 11, France spearheaded the newest imperialist war
drive in Africa, with air raids on Mali and the deployment of 2000 French
troops on the excuse of “fighting terrorism”. France has been quickly followed
by the U.S. declaring their support and involvement, and a UN Security Council
Resolution has also authorized 3300 more international troops. Canada has also
been quick to get it’s hands in on this new front of war into Africa, by
sending a C-17 cargo plane and 40 military personnel to aid the French assault
and promising to consider further actions.
