*** International Day of Action! ***
Protest the 1,000th Day Wikileaks Whistleblower Bradley Manning has Spent in U.S. Prison without Trial

FREE BRADLEY MANNING NOW!
NO TO WAR AND OCCUPATION! YES TO SELF-DETERMINATION!

SATURDAY February 23, 2013
1pm
Vancouver Art Gallery
Robson & Howe St.
Downtown Vancouver, Canada

Saturday February 23rd will mark Bradley Manning’s 1000th day in U.S. prison
without trial, a day that will be marked in over 70 cities around the
world with protest and demands to free Bradley Manning.  Bradley Manning
released hundreds of thousands of documents about the U.S. war crimes
in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world to Wikileaks, and for this
heroic act of blowing the whistle on the imperialist war drive he was
imprisoned in U.S. military jail. Bradley Manning, a “Soldier of
Humanity” now faces 22 charges, including “Aiding the enemy by indirect
means,” which could result in the death penalty or life in prison.

The wars that Bradley Manning risked his life to expose are still happening
in Iraq and Afghanistan, and have gone far beyond these two countries.
The U.S. government and their allies are on a full scale campaign to
overthrow Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and fomenting a civil war in
Syria. Increased sanctions against both Syria and Iran are an act of war
and are continuing the cruel and inhuman strangulation of the economy
and targeting of the people of Syria and Iran. Patriot missile batteries
operated by NATO are stationed on Turkey’s border with Syria,
heightening the threat of a foreign military attack.

The war drive by imperialist forces has expanded to new fronts in Africa. Since
January 10th 2013, France has been at the forefront of a military
intervention into Mali with over 4000 troops and a bombardment of air
strikes. The U.S. and Canada have also been quick to back this latest
colonial intervention, with Canada sending a C-17 heavy-lift transport
aircraft and 40 military personal for "one week" which has now been
extended to March 15th. For what? The same excuses of “fighting
terrorism” that have caused the destruction of Afghanistan and Iraq are
now being employed in Mali.

Come out to the streets on February 23rd and join with peace-loving people all over the world to demand:
- FREE BRADLEY MANNING NOW!
- NO TO WAR AND OCCUPATION! YES TO SELF-DETERMINATION!
- IMPERIALISTS HANDS OFF AFRICA!
