On June 26, 2013 the trial of U.S. soldier and Wikileaks Whistle Blower Bradley Manning ended its first phase. For what crime was he on trial? Bradley Manning decided to become a soldier of humanity when he released to Wikileaks over 260,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables, videos and documents exposing U.S. atrocities and war crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.

Taking a stand for justice and humanity, from July 26-27 people in over 40 cities around the world from Australia to Germany to here in Vancouver, Canada protested, demanding his immediate freedom awaiting the decision of military judge Colonel Denise Lind. Colonel Lind found Bradley Manning guilty on 20 of 22 charges. Although he was not convicted of the most serious charge of “aiding the enemy,” the 20 remaining charges still carry sentences that can add up to over 130 years.

Now people around the world are once again awaiting the decision of Colonel Lind, who is expected to release the sentence of Bradley Manning by the end of August. During this time, people who believe in defending Bradley Manning cannot just stand by and wait. We invite you to join with Mobilization Against War and Occupation (MAWO) to discuss recent developments in the case of Bradley Manning and what peace-loving people in Canada can do to fight for his freedom.
