The MAWO meeting will focus on organizing for the 8th International Hip Hop 4 Peace Festival: Peace! An Element of Hip Hop, happening this weekend.  We will also assess the last two weeks of antiwar actions, and plan for upcoming events. As well, the meeting will begin with newsclips and videos about the attacks by imperialist countries on poor and oppressed people all over the world and their resistance these attacks.

On August 31, political activists were brutally assaulted by Transit Police and RCMP officers while distributing Fire This Time a free, non-commercial, social justice newspaper at Metrotown Skytrain Station. At a public forum and organizing meeting on September 7th in response to these attacks an ad-hoc committee was formed to defend Fire This Time and stop assault on all political activists.

Please join for unity and to fight back! The meeting will decide on a name for the committee as well as plan upcoming actions in defense of civil liberties and democratic rights.
