Join us for this week’s MAWO organizing meeting to plan for upcoming antiwar events and actions. The meeting will begin with 45min of news clips and videos showing the past two weeks of imperialist threats, sanctions, wars and occupations as well as the resistance of millions of people all around the world to these attacks.

On October 29, 2003 Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO) was formed to bring peace-loving people together to educate, organize and mobilize against war and occupation. 9 years on, MAWO's anniversary is a chance to reflect on the 9 years of antiwar organizing and go forward with MAWO's commitment to continue fighting against war and occupation and for a better world.

On August 31, political activists were assaulted by Transit Police and RCMP officers while distributing Fire This Time a free, non-commercial, social justice newspaper at Metrotown Skytrain Station. The Vancouver Committee to Defend Freedom of Expression formed to defend Fire This Time and stop assault on all political activists. Join in to plan and organize for unity and to fight back in defense of civil liberties and democratic rights!
