Plan and organize upcoming antiwar events and actions at the MAWO organizing meeting, including events for the month of August as well as planning for the 8th Annual MAWO Hip Hop 4 Peace Festival. The meeting will also include a review of the past two weeks of MAWO actions, a MAWO forum on Saudi Arabia and antiwar rally and petition campaign in downtown Vancouver, as well as 45 minutes of news videos focusing on the resistance of people all over the world to imperialist war and occupation.

While many antiwar groups have taken a position against war and sanctions on Syria, many groups are confused about what really is happening in Syria and how the antiwar movement should respond. In this forum we will discuss and analyze the politics and the facts on the ground in Syria and what is the goal of the U.S. in Syria.

>> Ali Yerevani ~ Political editor of the Fire This Time Newspaper, social justice and antiwar organizer, organizer and co-founder with Iranian Communities Against War (ICAW), and participant of 1979 Iranian revolution
