On
Monday January 23 the European Union imposed a new set of sanctions
against Iran, banning Iranian oil imports to Europe, freezing assets
from Iran’s central bank and other trade and travel restrictions.
These newest sanctions are on top of existing sanctions from the EU,
UN, US and Canada, as well as covert operation including
assassinations and sabotage. Syria, also a target in this imperialist
war drive since January 2011 is facing crippling sanctions imposed by
the US, EU, Arab League and Canada. As well, US and EU imperialists
have been meddling in the internal affair of Syria through covert
military operations with the goal of imposing civil war to bring down
the Syrian regime.
