the Antiwar Movement Respond?

Every day the rhetoric and threat
of attack and further sanctions from the US government and their
imperialist allies are closing in tighter on Syria and Iran.













Today the US and Britain closed their
embassy in Syria, and US government officials have made dangerous
statements such as “We’re going to have to take measures outside
the UN to strengthen and deepen and broaden the international
community pressure on Assad,” which came from State Department
spokeswoman Victoria Nuland today. The US and its imperialist allies
including Canada are serious about regime change in Syria, another
independent country in the Middle East and North Africa. Janine
Solanki reviews and analyzes the imperialist aggression against Syria
and why all major political parties, Conservative, Liberal and NDP
are pro regime change in Syria by supporting the UNSC vetoed
resolution and  their position stated in the Parliament of Canada.   














Today by an executive order Obama
imposed tighter sanctions against Iran, freezing all Iranian assets
held or traded in the US. Last week US intelligence said that an
Israeli attack on Iran was “imminent” which was followed on
Sunday February 5th by comments from Obama that the US and
Israel "have closer military and intelligence consultation...
than we've ever had". Alison Bodine reviews and analyzes the
roots of imperialist aggression, including Canada, against Iran and
why all three major parties are in favor of tough sanctions against
the people of Iran.













On February 4th 80 cities
around the world, including Vancouver, protested for an International
Day of Action against war on Iran. After this great mobilization, how
can the antiwar movement especially in Canada must move forward to
stop a war on Iran and Syria?
