400 U.S. military personnel and four batteries of U.S.-made Patriot missiles from the U.S., Germany and the Netherlands will soon be on the ground in Turkey. This deployment is a clear escalation of  U.S. and NATO, including Canada's, aggression against Syria, where every day people are facing devastating sanctions and the violence and bloodshed caused by the imperialist backing of so-called rebel forces and an imposed civil war. 

At the same time, the U.S. government has once again tightened sanctions on Iran. The U.S., Canada and E.U. sanctions are meant to strangle the economy of Iran and destabilize the country, which also faces covert imperialist military operations including the assassination of Iranian scientists. 

As imperialist's set their targets against the independent governments of Iran and Syria, people all over North Africa and the Middle East are continuing their struggle against U.S. domination and for their self-determination, including the resistance movement in Afghanistan and Iraq, where in Afghanistan, Canada still has more than 1000 troops. The people of Palestine fought heroically against an brutal 8-day assault on Gaza by Israel that killed over 160 people and injured over 1200 people. Meanwhile, the heroic people of Bahrain have continued their protests on the streets in the face of brutal repression by the U.S. backed puppet regime. 

As peace loving people in Canada, we must join with people out on the streets all over the world in demanding: 

IMPERIALISTS HANDS OFF SYRIA!
NO SANCTIONS ON SYRIA & IRAN!
STOP ISRAEL'S ONGOING ASSAULT ON PALESTINIANS!
