In the latest move against Syria, on December 4th NATO approved the deployment of U.S.-made Patriot surface-to-air missiles along Turkey's border with Syria. This military positioning against Syria comes after tightening sanctions aimed to weaken Syria and an imperialist fomented civil war that includes the arming and backing of so-called rebels and foreign mercenaries in Syria.
In response to the imperialist threats and maneuverings against Syria, Iran has taken a position against imperialist interference in Syria. Iran itself is a country that is under crippling sanctions and imperialist covert military operations.
Join MAWO to discuss the dynamic role of Iran, Turkey and Syria in the context of the imperialist war drive in the Middle East and North Africa.
Speaker:
Ali Yerevani - political editor of the Fire This Time newspaper and the Battle of Idea's Press. Ali was a participant in the 1979 Iranian Revolution and has been a long-time social justice organizer in Iran, Europe, the U.S. and Canada.
