This week’s MAWO organizing meeting will have a
special focus on the recent launching of the Free Bradley Manning campaign here
in Vancouver, which included a public forum as well as petitioning. At the meeting,
these actions will be assessed and further actions for the Free Bradley Manning
campaign will be planned, including the emergency picket action called for
April 26 in front of the US Consulate in Vancouver. 

We will also discuss MAWO’s continued response to
foreign intervention and escalating threats of war against Iran and Syria. The
meeting begins with 45mins of recent news videos focusing on imperialist
attacks and threats in North Africa in the Middle East and the resistance of
oppressed people to these attacks.

Downtown Vancouver

The third pre-trial hearing of Bradley Manning,
accused Wikileaks whistle-blower, begins on Tuesday April 24th. In
previous hearings all 22 charges, including “giving intelligence to the enemy
through indirect means” and “aiding the enemy” against Bradley Manning have
been upheld. Further hearings will determine what evidence and what witnesses
will be allowed to be heard during the full court-martial currently scheduled
for August.

>From April 24-26 peace-loving people from all over the
world will be coming out onto the streets to expose the sham trial of Bradley
Manning, demanding that all charges against Bradley Manning be dropped and that
he be freed immediately. Bradley Manning is a hero that should be celebrated
for his courageous actions, not on trial in a US military court!

On Tuesday April 17, 2012 the Free Bradley Manning
Campaign was launched in Vancouver, BC, Canada, joining groups and individuals
in the U.S. and around the world who are protesting and organizing for the
freedom of Bradley Manning. Over 60 people came together for the forum and
campaign launching, titled “Bradley Manning, Soldier of Humanity.”
