On
March 28th “Canada's Engagement in Afghanistan - Fourteenth and
Final Report to Parliament”
was presented to Canadian Parliament. In the forward of the report,
the Prime Minster of Canada Stephen Harper wrote, "Canada
has remained in Afghanistan to help Afghans and our allies to secure,
rebuild and steer Afghanistan toward becoming a more stable,
self-sustaining, prosperous country that will never again serve as a
haven for terrorism.”
Nothing
is further far from truth. All statistics about Afghanistan,
including those from UN agencies, conclude that the standard of
living, functionality of government and all rights, including women's
rights, are stagnated. Further more, the Taliban are again becoming a
reality of every day of life and even a partner for the future
government of Afghanistan!





    






In
the last two months of the US/Canada/NATO occupation the people of
Afghanistan have been subject to deep humiliation and brutality,
including the burning of the Quran by troops and the massacre of 17
Afghan people. These latest attacks come on top of over a decade of
constant military attacks and drone bombings, resulting in the
complete destruction of infrastructure and a lack of access to
healthcare and education. 







  





After
10 years, the Afghan people are still resisting against this brutal
war and occupation. MAWO invites you to join us to discuss how we as
peace-loving people in Canada can stand in solidarity with the people
of Afghanistan and join in the struggle to end the US/Canada/NATO
occupation.
