by No One Is Illegal Vancouver Coast Salish Territories, Mining Justice
Alliance, Council of Canadians, Calamites Anti Capitalist Collective, and
Streams of Justice. If others are interested in getting involved locally,
please do get in touch via email hwalia8 at gmail.com.
We hope everyone can help spread the word about the Demonstration on
Sunday November 6 as well as the Panel on Monday November 7. We are also
looking for specific support with the following:
1) FUNDRAISING: We need to raise at least another $2500 to support
transport costs for communities to attend the Assembly, food costs, and
basic logistical expenses. We really need your help, any amount helps!
Please email Harsha hwalia8 at gmail.com to arrange a donation.
2) BILLETING: We are STILL looking for approximately 20-30 spots,
particular spaces that are elder-friendly (not too many stairs, privacy in
room etc). If you are able to offer up space for billeting in the city,
please be in touch with Brian at b.peaslee at lycos.com
3) FOOD VOLUNTEERS: We STILL need at least 3-4 people per shift for the
six shifts. If you have questions please be in touch with Tracey
tracey.j.mann at gmail.com. If you are able to help with food prep, serving,
and cleanup in the kitchen, please sign up here http://is.gd/859V3y
4) LOGISTICAL SUPPORT: If you have access to vehicles or are otherwise
available during Nov 4 - Nov 8 for errands, accompanying people, generally
helping out, please email Harsha at hwalia8 at gmail.com

the action on Sunday November 6th, please email Sozan

ABOUT:
The first Indigenous Assembly against Mining and Pipelines was held in
Neskonlith, Secwepemc Territories. The second Indigenous Assembly is being
planned in Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories to coincide with the
pro-mining "Meeting Minds, Making Mines" Conference being held at the Pan
Pacific Hotel from November 6-8th. The conference is sponsored by mining
corporations and the Canadian Aboriginal Mineral Association who want to
want to "sell" and push mining further into Indigenous communities.
Brochure: http://www.aboriginalminerals.com/pdfs/CAMA-2011_W.pdf
Indigenous communities from across the province are gathering in Vancouver
Unceded Coast Salish Territories to oppose this conference and those
corporations who profit off the destruction of the land. No mining, no
pipelines, no resource extraction on unceded native lands! Defend the
people, protect the land!
