The Cuban Communist Party's 6th Congress was a historic success in the midst of a world defined by global financial crisis, imperialist wars and occupations and rising revolutions. Revolutionary mass movements in the Middle East and North Africa are a clear manifestation of this crisis and of resistance against the imperialist offensive on all fronts.

Cuba has been an important example for oppressed people internationally in fighting and creating a better world with its many monumental achievements for over 50 years. The people of Cuba, under the direction and leadership of Fidel Castro and the revolutionary government of Cuba, have met and overcome many challenges.  However, today more than ever Cuban society faces many new and important challenges to advance the socialist project while under a criminal and inhuman blockade that has been imposed by United States administrations on the Cuban people for almost 50 years. 


Join us to discuss this hugely important meeting and the following questions:

-  In what context was the Congress of the  Cuban Communist Party held?
-  What were the key issues, discussions, proposals and decisions?
-  What were the significant remarks in the two major speeches made by the new First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party Raul Castro?
-  How does Cuba’s approach to dealing with challenges and important social, economical and political questions differ from countries like the United States and Canada? What can we learn from it?
-  Where is Cuba headed today?

Both events are free and will be facilitated in both English and Spanish

Events start at 7pm and dinner will be served for $5 a plate

El VI Congreso del Partido Comunista de Cuba fue un éxito histórico en medio de un mundo definido por la crisis financiera global, las guerras imperialistas y ocupaciones, y las revoluciones en aumento. Los movimientos revolucionarios de masas en el Medio Oriente y en el Norte de África son una clara manifestación de 
esta crisis y de la resistencia contra la ofensiva imperialista en todas sus formas.

Cuba ha sido un ejemplo a nivel internacional para los pueblos oprimidos en la lucha y construcción de un mundo mejor con sus grandes logros alcanzados por más de cincuenta años. El pueblo de Cuba bajo la dirección y liderazgo de Fidel Castro, y el gobierno revolucionario de Cuba se han reunido para superar diferentes desafíos. Sin embargo, hoy más que nunca la sociedad cubana enfrenta nuevos e importantes retos para avanzar en el proyecto socialista, bajo el criminal e inhumano bloqueo que se le ha sido impuesto por las diferentes administraciones de Estados Unidos durante casi cincuenta años.

Únete a la  discusión de este importante  evento siguiendo las preguntas:

-¿En qué contexto fue celebrado el Congreso del Partido Comunista de Cuba?
- ¿Cuáles fueron los temas claves, los debates, propuestas y decisiones?
- ¿Cuáles fueron las observaciones significativas en los dos más importantes discursos realizados por el Primer Secretario del Partido Comunista de Cuba, Raúl Castro?
- ¿Cómo la propuesta de Cuba enfrenta los desafíos y las importantes cuestiones sociales, políticas y económicas que difieren con países como Estados Unidos y Canadá? ¿Cómo podemos aprender de eso?
- ¿Hacia donde va Cuba?

Ambos eventos son de entrada libe y gratuita, y se facilitarán en inglés y en español.

Los eventos empiezan a las 7 pm y se servirá comida por $5 por plato.
