*** Launch of new petition demanding US/UK/NATO/UN Hands Off North Africa and
the Middle East and No Military Intervention in Libya !***



On Saturday March 19th bombs from French warplanes began dropping on the Libyan
people. For the last five days the US/UK/Canada and NATO forces have all joined
together in this bloody and vicious assault that has taken the lives of people
in Libya
all in the name of “protecting civilians.”



The United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973 has meant that over 160
Tomahawk missiles, each equipped with 1,000lb warheads, have now been dropped
from foreign planes in the skies above Libya. This resolution has given
countries like the US/UK and Canada
a blank check to attack Libya
however they see fit. 



This is not a war to “protect” people in Libya, it is another chapter in the
New Era of War and Occupation. This is a desperate and bloody measure by
imperialist countries to secure the vast resources of Libya for their
own profit. It is also a massive reactionary counter-offensive against the
great gains made by the people of North Africa and the Middle
 East in the last 3 months of a mass movement against US-backed
dictators in the region. 



As peace-loving people in Canada
we have the responsibility to stop this brutal attack and bombing of the people
of Libya.
We know that imperialist governments around the world have only one thing in
mind as they shed crocodile tears for the people of Libya–
how to best protect their economic and strategic interests in the Middle East
and North Africa. Now that they have been
given the mandate to use any method they see fit, we know how far they are
capable of going in this criminal attack, we haven't forgotten killing of
millions of people in Iraq
and Afghanistan.
>From Palestine to Haiti,
to Afghanistan and Latin
America, the US
and imperialists will never bring democracy and human rights to any poor and
oppressed people. 



We must come together on the streets to demand that the US/UK/Canada/UN and
NATO get out of North Africa and the Middle East and to stop bombing Libya now!

*** Lanzamiento de nueva campaña de firmas demandando la no intervención de los
EEUU, el Reino Unido, la OTAN y ONU en África del Norte y el Medio Oriente y no
a la intervención militar en Libia!



El sábado 20 de marzo bombas de aviones de guerra franceses comenzaron a caer
sobre el pueblo libio. Durante los últimos cinco días fuerzas de los EEUU, el
Reino Unido, Canadá y la OTAN se han unido en este asalto sangriento y vicioso
el cual ha tomado las vidas del
pueblo de Libia, todo en el nombre de “proteger a civiles.”



La resolución 1973 del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU ha significado que más de
160 misiles Tomahawk cada uno equipado con ojivas de 1,000lbs las cuales han
sido descargadas desde aviones extranjeros en los cielos sobre Libia. Esta
resolución les ha dado a países como EEUU, el
Reino Unido y Canadá una carta en blanco para atacar a Libia como mejor les convenga. 



Esta no es una guerra para “proteger” al pueblo en Libia sino que es otro
capítulo en la Nueva Era de Guerra y Ocupación. Esto es una medida sangrienta y
desesperada por los países imperialistas para asegurar los grandes recursos de
Libia para sus propias ganancias. También es una masiva contra ofensiva
reaccionaria contra los grandes avances hecho por los pueblos de África del
Norte y el Medio Oriente en los últimos tres meses de gran movimiento en contra
de los dictadores en la región apoyados por los EEUU.



Como personas amante de la
 paz en Canadá tenemos la responsabilidad de parar este brutal
ataque y bombardeo del
pueblo de Libia. Nosotros sabemos que los gobiernos imperialistas alrededor del mundo tienen una sola cosa en mente mientras lloran
lagrimas de cocodrilo por el pueblo de Libia – como mejor proteger sus intereses económicos
y estratégicos en el Medio Oriente y África del Norte. Ya que han recibido el
mandato para el método que les sea mas útil, sabemos lo tan lejos que pueden
llegar en este ataque criminal. No nos hemos olvidado de la matanza de miles de
millones de personas en Iraq y Afganistán. Desde Palestina hasta Haití, de
Afganistán a América Latina,
los EEUU y los imperialistas jamás traerán democracia y derechos humanos a ningún
pueblo pobre y oprimido.



Debemos unirnos en las calles para demandar que salgan los EEUU, el Reino
Unido, Canadá, la ONU y OTAN de África del Norte y el Medio Oriente y que cese
el bombardeo de Libia ahora!
