Join MAWO for the first picket and protest in Canada against the butchery started in Libya when missiles began dropping on Saturday. 

So far 159 Tomahawk missiles have been dropped on Libya, causing the deaths of over 70 people and devastating homes and infrastructure. How can this be an attack to “prevent” civilian deaths? How did the US, UK, France,Canada, the UN and others get the right to bomb the sovereign country of Libya? 

This massive imperialist counter-offensive is being taken against people in the Middle East and North Africa in order to attempt to turn back the tide of the great gains by millions of people fighting for human rights and self-determination over the last 3 months and for imperialist powers to gain access to Libya's vast resources. 

Today the Parliament of Canada met to give their stamp of approval to the Canadian CF-18 fighter jets that are already flying over Libyan skies. Conservative, Liberals, NDP and Bloc Québécois all supported Canada's participation in this war on the Libyan people which includes not only more fighter jets, but also 140 Canadian Forces personnel, warships and transport aircraft. 

In all of Canada there has not yet been a single demonstration against this criminal bombing and attack on Libyan people. 

This makes it even more important for peace-loving people to come out into the streets against the latest brutality of the New Era of War and Occupation.
