For more than two months people in North Africa and the Middle East, from Morocco to Yemen, have been in struggle for freedom, social justice, democracy, a better life, human dignity and self-determination. The people of Tunisia and Egypt overthrew their despotic presidents, and now there are mass movements across the region challenging US backed regimes.
 
Please join for this public forum to discuss:
 
~> What are the differences and similarities between the revolutionary mass movements throughout the Middle East and North Africa?
~> What has been the role of the United States, Canada, Britain, France and their allies in Libya
~> What does sanctions and a no-fly zone mean for the people of Libya?
~> How should the antiwar movement respond to the situation in Libya?
 
Screening 45 minutes of documentary and news clips followed by speakers and discussion

Speakers:

~> Manolo de los Santos ~ Manolo is a Dominican social justice leader and political organizer in New  York, as well as in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. He was in Haiti following the devastating 2010 earthquake, coordinating the IFCO/Pastors for Peace medical and humanitarian aid project, in cooperation with the Cuban Medical Mission.

~> Ali Yerevani ~ Long time Iranian social justice organizer, political editor of the Fire This Time newspaper and the Battle of Ideas Press, and a participant in the 1979 Iranian Revolution
